“DE UN MAESTRO PARA UN MAESTRO”.
El presente documento muestra un resumen de la conferencia impartida por el Dr. Arq. Orestes del Castillo del Prado como parte del programa realizado en el marco de la inauguración del evento 13 Seminario Internacional de Manejo y Gestión de Centros Históricos organizado por la Oficina del Historiador de la Habana. El objetivo fundamental que persigue es mostrar desde la perspectiva y el conocimiento del Profesor Titular Orestes del Castillo del Prado, sus reflexiones sobre lo dicho por José Martí referente a las construcciones del Puente de Brooklyn y el Ferrocarril elevado de Nueva York, en publicaciones de la época (Siglo XlX). Dicha conferencia fue impartida en la Sala principal de la Biblioteca Rubén Martínez Villena, frente a un público diverso de estudiantes de las escuelas primarias, secundarias y universidades, así como de la comunidad del territorio. El tema versó sobre la importancia y versatilidad de la obra de José Julián Martí y Pérez, considerado como el apóstol de Cuba y el más universal de los cubanos. En esta ocasión trató sobre sus interpretaciones basadas en escritos de José Martí sobre obras relevantes de la Arquitectura e ingeniería civil construidas en su tiempo.Las conclusiones de la actividad fueron construidas de conjunto entre el profesor y el auditórium. La conferencia impartida hizo gala de la maestría pedagógica del profesor Orestes del Castillo para mostrar a través de las metáforas y ardides literarios usados por José Martí, el desarrollo de las construcciones de trabajos notables, pero, sobre todo, marcando las diferencias sociales y problemas políticos de discriminación y pobreza subyacentes detrás de cada gran obra construida.

Abstract:
This document shows a summary of the conference given by Dr. Arq. Orestes del Castillo del Prado as part of the program carried out in the framework of the inauguration of the event 13 International Seminar on Management and Management of Historic Centers organized by the Office of the Historian from Havana. The main objective pursued is to show from the perspective and knowledge of the titular professor Orestes del Castillo del Prado, his reflections on what José Martí said regarding the constructions of the Brooklyn Bridge and the New York Elevated Railroad in publications of the time (19th century). This conference was given in the Main Hall of the Rubén Martinez Villena Library, in front of a diverse audience of students from primary, secondary and university schools, as well as from the community of the territory. The topic was about the importance and versatility of the work of José Julián Martí y Pérez, considered the most universal of Cubans and specifically an apostle of Cuba. On this occasion it dealt with the interpretations and writings of José Martí on relevant works of Architecture and civil engineering built in his time. The conclusions of the activity were constructed jointly between the teacher and the auditorium. The lecture given showed the pedagogical mastery of Professor Orestes del Castillo to show through the metaphors and literary tricks used by José Martí, the development of the constructions of relevant works, but, above all, marking the social differences and political problems underlying discrimination and poverty behind every great work built.
