  • Abstract:

Social research has focused on studying, analyzing and interpreting the practices of human beings in their relations with each other and with social institutions, all with their most varied rules of organization. The aspect of cultural studies that is linked to Education argues that cultural artifacts are also pedagogical, they teach something. In this sense, we defend that a city is a cultural artifact, that is, its physical organization and the interactions resulting from that organization teach people: cities have curricula. The purpose of this text is to present evidence that it is possible to investigate the curriculum (s) of the city (ies). Thus, we present some of the results of a master's research that investigated the interaction of children organized in a comprehensive education program with the curriculum of the city of Belo Horizonte. The argument developed is that for investigations of research objects as complex, as the city (ies) are (s), it is necessary to adequately delimit which aspect of this object to be researched.
