  • Abstract:

This article is the result of a short course offered at the VIII History Research Meeting at UFMG - EPHIS 2019 - in which we discussed the teaching of History in museum spaces. A bibliographic review of history schooling in Brazil was carried out, highlighting its importance and its social function. In addition, we analyze the use of musealized cultural assets in the teaching and learning process of the discipline. Finally, we present here reports on the experience of the dynamics carried out with the participants of the mini-course. Each dynamic was built from the master's research of the offerers of the mini-course, with the three researches being carried out at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, through the History department and within the research line of Teaching History and regional history. The research has as its object of study the teaching of history in museum spaces, the first being about a science museum (Espaço Ciência), the other an anthropological museum (Museu do Homem do Nordeste) and the last, a historical museum (Museu Olinda Regional Office). Thus, we seek to analyze the multiple possibilities of studying history in different types of museums, proposing educational practices using them. Thus, we seek in this article to contribute to the debate on the teaching of the school history subject, with an emphasis on the use of museums as the guiding axis of the pedagogical experience, in addition to pointing out possibilities for teaching practices that stimulate the interest of students ( as), that are dynamic and constructive.
