PESQUISA EM APICULTURA: DUAS DÉCADAS DE EXPANSÃO MUNDIAL (1998-2018)
A pesquisa em apicultura tem se expandido ao longo dos anos. Essa área tem se destacado não somente devido a demanda de produção, mas também como forma de preservação das espécies de abelhas e de plantas de diferentes ecossistemas. O panorama das pesquisas realizadas em duas décadas de apicultura (1998-2018) pode ser analisado para auxiliar pesquisadores e produtores quanto as perspectivas e os rumos dessa área produtiva nos próximos anos. Esse trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar os principais temas dentro das pesquisas em apicultura mundial, bem como os países que têm participado ativamente destas. A pesquisa foi realizada através de busca na base de dados PubMed com três etapas: 1. Busca pelos termo “apicultura” em inglês (Beekeeping; apiculture). 2. Triagem e classificação do tema central de cada artigo e busca pelos termos referentes a cada tema na mesma base de dados. 3. Triagem quanto aos países dos autores de cada publicação utilizando os dados extraídos na primeira etapa. Foram identificados 22 temas dos quais fisiologia, comportamento, genética, polinização e sanidade se destacam como principais. EUA, Itália, Brasil, Espanha e China se destacam dentre as nações que mais possuem número de publicações, respectivamente. Detalhes sobre os temas encontrados e produções individuais são discutidos ao longo do trabalho.

Abstract:
Beekeeping research has expanded over the years. This area has stood out not only due to the demand for production, but also as a way of preserving the species of bees and plants from different ecosystems. The panorama of research carried out in two decades of beekeeping (1998-2018) can be analyzed to help researchers and producers regarding the perspectives and directions of this productive area in the coming years. This journal aimed to evaluate the main themes within the research in beekeeping worldwide, as well as the countries that have actively participated in these. The research was carried out by searching the PubMed database with three steps: 1. Searching for the term “Apiculture/ Beekeeping”. 2. Screening and classification of the central theme of each article and searching for terms referring to each theme in the same database. 3. Screening for the countries of the authors of each publication using the data extracted in the first stage. 22 themes were identified, of which physiology, behavior, genetics, pollination and health stand out as the main ones. USA, Italy, Brazil, Spain and China stood out among the nations with the largest number of publications, respectively. Details on the themes found and individual productions are discussed throughout this journal.
